Connect the sound you have.

Choose Microphone in the studio and allow access in your browser. Your browser's selected audio input can be a microphone or a connected audio interface. Select the desired device in your browser or operating system before connecting.

The input goes to visual analysis and recording. It is not sent back to your speakers by PHASE//VOID, which avoids creating another audible monitor path. Use your mixer or interface for your normal sound routing.

Watch the low, mid and high meters. A connected device can still be silent: check its input selection, cable, gain and any hardware mute. Adjust the visual sensitivity after you have a usable signal.

Choose Disconnect to release the live input. Permission is controlled by your browser; you can also revoke it in the site's permission settings.

Use audio from another tab.

Choose Tab / system, select the source in the browser's sharing picker and enable audio sharing if offered. Sharing support depends on the browser, operating system and surface you select.

A browser may share a screen or window without an audio track. If that happens, PHASE//VOID cannot analyze its sound. Try a browser tab with audio sharing enabled, or route the sound through a supported audio input instead.

The shared-audio input is not played back a second time through PHASE//VOID. Your original application continues to control its own playback.

Take the controls into a set.

Choose a scene and save a few looks before the performance. Auto scene cycles scenes on a timer; it is not an automatic DJ phrase or BPM detector. Switch manually when you want a change to land on a specific musical moment.

In Output, open the projector window and move it to your second display. Double-click its image for fullscreen. Allow the popup when the browser asks.

Start with balanced rendering and lower the detail or resolution if the frame rate drops. Bright moving patterns are part of the visual output; Gentler motion and Blackout give you immediate control.

Keep a piece of the night.

Record video captures the generated canvas and the connected audio in real time. Available MP4 or WebM options depend on the browser. Keep the studio tab visible during capture.

A segment ends at 30 minutes or 750 MB, whichever comes first. Save and check that recording before starting another. Those limits help bound memory use; they do not guarantee a device can record every resolution without dropped frames.
