Start with your sound.
In the studio, choose Open audio or drop an MP3 or WAV onto the visual. Press play to connect the animation to your track. Use the transport to pause, seek, restart or loop.
Playback runs through your browser. Your file is not uploaded to PHASE//VOID, and you do not need an account. Long tracks play through a media element rather than requiring the application to decode the entire song into memory before you can start.
The timeline shows a rolling history of the signal; it is not a precomputed waveform of the whole file. Playback and file compatibility still depend on your browser and device. If a file will not open, try a standard PCM WAV or MP3 export from your audio editor.
Shape how the music moves.
Choose one of 12 procedural worlds, then change its palette and scene controls. The visual engine analyzes low, mid and high frequencies separately: large forms, internal movement and fine detail can respond differently.
Start with moderate sensitivity. Listen for a bass change, then adjust the look until the movement feels connected to that change. Speed and visual intensity change the image; they are separate from your playback volume.
Use Gentler motion for a calmer look. Save a few contrasting presets for different sections of a mix. A composition with some empty space often reads better on a projector than every control set to maximum.
Make the frame yours.
Open the Output tab to choose the shape of your canvas. Landscape works well for a conventional music video; portrait suits a vertical composition; square gives a centered artwork more room.

Add a track or event title, subtitle and optional local PNG, JPEG or WebP artwork. These layers appear in the exported image and video. Studio buttons and controls do not.
Use fullscreen for a clean view, open the projector window for another display, or save a still frame as PNG. For moving output with sound, follow the video recording guide.
Return to your favorite look.
Save session downloads a settings file you can import later. The studio also stores your last settings and saved looks in this browser when local storage is available.
Session settings do not include the audio file or artwork. Reopen those files when returning to a saved session. Clearing this site's browser storage removes remembered settings; downloaded session files stay where you saved them.
